PayPal Services extended To Nigeria and 9 Other Countries in Africa

According to forbs this service extention to Nigeria and the other 9 other Countries is starting this week,

and PayPal is one of the largest online payment Company around the  globe.

Recently there was a petition from the advocacy for change.org to PayPal for it extention of service to Nigeria and other Countries,

but for now nobody knows the very root cause of thier extention of service, There is actually more to it.

Countries to recieve the service are:

From Reuters reports, PayPal will expand to.

1. Belarus,

2. Macedonia,

3. Moldova,

4. Montenegro,

5. Cameroon,

6. Ivory Coast,

7. Zimbabwe,

8. Paraguay

9. Monaco and

10. Nigeria.

Of the Ten countries, Nigeria holds the biggest potential market for PayPal considering that the West African country has an estimated 60 million Internet users according to statistics from Euromonitor.

This new expansion will bring the total number of countries under PayPal’s coverage to 203.

“PayPal has been going through a period of reinvention, refreshing many of its services to make them easier to use on mobile (phones), allowing us to expand into fast-developing markets,”

Rupert Keeley, PayPal’s Vice President for the EMEA region, said to Reuters.

According to Keeley, PayPal will not launch all of its services in these news markets.

The company will only start off with the ‘send money’ feature, allowing customers to make payments to pre-approved international merchant sites.

Local merchants will still be unable to receive payments via PayPal until sometime in the future.

With this PayPal extention of service to Nigeria it will be more easier, reliable and convinent to do transfer of funds online from Nigeria to other Countries and recieve money too from other Countries with ease and less stress,

to be frank this a welcome development which PayPal and Nigerians in particular will benefit from.
